Harking back to those lazy hazy crazy days of Summer as Nat King Cole famously once put it... this is a short road movie with a soundtrack by Dave Webber and Anni Fentiman a favourite bit of in-car entertainment. Today it is cold, windy and very very damp, this video is a reminder that its not always like this and Summer is on its way. The video starts entering Wolverley and then takes a meandering path through the lanes of north Worcestershire.

Yes Lia, unfortunately all the rest of Europe have that extremely dangerous habit of driving on the righthand side too (or Starboard as the Jack Tars would have it). If the good lord had intended us to drive on the right he would have given us lefthanded steering wheels I think Lia. As it happens I have driven on the righthand side of the road in a number of places that have adopted that strange custom including the USA but I've always put it down to sheer bloody mindedness myself. :-P
Lia is quite right I'm afraid. As a Yankee right-hand side driver, AA, I found the opening of this otherwise charming roadway video a bit alarming. Driving on the left in North America, as you know, would subject one to a head-on crash with another and doubtless-larger vehicle coming in the "right" direction. If we could only all drive on the left (literally and figuratively) what a better world this would be!
But once one acclimates to a POV tending toward sudden disaster, this view of a cozy township is great ride through a patch of splendid countryside.
"The Queen's Head Pub" looks inviting--despite the slightly treasonous name--and the rolling farmlands and wooded glens. Now this is the England the roving and tacky tourists like me pine for, somewhat familiar yet older and more seasoned. And viewed against shady trees and deep-green hedge-fronts, it is a very inviting drive indeed. Wonderful music choices as always, AA, and may the sun shine like that again over your part of the Shire!
I do accept that there are certain hazards attached to driving on the left in North America Doug, you can take individualism too far I think and this is one such example of that. Another example would be choosing to stop at green traffic lights and proceed on red ones, again this is a peccadillo that could easily prove fatal, so we do have to rein in our inclinations whatever our colour preference or left leanings may tell us is right. So far as the Queen's Head is concerned Doug, yes the term is slightly regicidal but when it was called the Queen's Legs they could never admit to being open....a case of blasphemy trumping treason on this occasion I think Doug. Glad you liked the little drive around, I found the video languishing in the utterly ignored end of my YouTube Channel so thought I'd give it a little run out thereby generating a little sunshine under this dour February sky.
